My name is Alanna and I own a photography studio in Parker, Colorado which is just south of Denver. If I could have lived in the gym or art room as a kid, I would have. These two outlets have shaped my life in the best (and sometimes most unexpected) ways. I’ve done a little bit of everything—earning my pro card in natural figure competitions, being a CrossFit athlete, throwing pottery, and even learning to box (because why not?).
I’m a clean-living, coffee-fueled mom of three—my oldest is in college now, and I’m still trying to figure out how time went by so fast. I’m also married to a chiropractor (so yes, I get free adjustments, and no, I don’t take them for granted!).
I know what it’s like to juggle a fast-paced life—balancing business, family, and everything in between. You’re constantly moving, making things happen, and showing up for everyone else. But when was the last time you got to just be in the moment instead of trying to capture it?

Home to the Pumpkin Fest and LOTS of corn. My husband and I both grew up in a small town in the far suburbs of Chicago. Everyone knows everyone there. Still to this day, when we go home to visit, its like a high school reunion if we go out.
I always loved where I came from and I think that the midwest mentality is still deep rooted in my soul. The midwest is filled with good people that know how to savor the every day moments (that are the best things in life if you pause long enough to notice them); skinned knees, the doll your daughter won't leave the house without and the gaping hole in your son's smile where a tooth used to be. I'm in love with the details and often times I think its where you can find the most joy. The details are what drew me into photography. Freezing those fleeting moments in time so they can be heirloom memories instead of forgotten.

The older I get the more I like to be home but I honestly think its just because we are in such a fast-paced "season" of life.
But what I've figured out after almost 40 years on this earth is this...there's no place like home, for real.. While we have a picture-perfect home on 5 acres in the country, home is more of a feeling more than it is a place. It's not about being able to impress people because if thats the type of shit that you aspire for, we probably won't be BFF's... my dream in life is to create a home, like the place that every kid wants to come to because its safe, welcoming and a fun place to be. Anyone can build a giant impressive house, but it takes serious intention to create a feeling of home.

Traveling...or not..
Alanna was recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for a branding shoot for both of my businesses. I had very high expectations and wanted to capture the personality and quality that our business provides! The entire process was exceptional. She gave very clear instructions and guidance on what to wear AND what not to wear, which I initially thought was of little importance... Alanna is amazing. We have been working with her for a few years and have had both outdoor and studio sessions now. She is great with kids and with the whole family. She makes the kids comfortable and gets beautiful photos of them. Her lighting and composition is fantastic. We love her prints and also send them to family members who live far away! She is very supportive with picking out outfits, hair, makeup, anything. She gives you tips in advance and is always available for questions or whatever. I wasn't sure how the studio session would be compared to outdoors (outdoors makes for such amazing backgrounds) but the studio photos came out fantastic - I just received our prints in the mail (I ordered from Nations Photo Lab) and they are SO good.
